Digital implant passport · for dentists

Never treat an implant blind again.

Passport records every implant with the patient’s consent, identifies any implant from an X-ray and produces a document that stays with the patient for life.

The AI suggests. The dentist confirms — only then does it go into the passport.

The problem

The implant with no identity.

A new patient sits down in the chair. They have an implant from 2013, the clinic that placed it has closed and nobody knows the brand. The detective work begins.

Every implant placed should have a record that follows the patient. Most don’t: it sits in a paper file, in old software or in a colleague’s memory. And the dentist who finds it years later pays the price.

It shouldn’t be like this. And now it doesn’t have to be.

  • Hours lost in PDF catalogues

Comparing threads and platforms in 80 MB catalogues, calling colleagues, guessing the connection — and ordering an abutment that may not fit.

  • Treating with uncertainty

A wrong component means retreatment, a wasted appointment and a difficult conversation with the patient. You can feel the doubt in your hands.

  • A history that gets lost

An implant’s record belongs to the patient, not to a clinic that no longer exists. Without it, every change of dentist starts from scratch.

What Passport does

Identify, record and document every implant. On one platform.

Five capabilities designed for the chair, not the back office: the first four are available now; the component shop opens with our partners.

Available

Patient Passport

The digital record of the implant, with the patient’s consent: brand, reference, lot, position on the FDI chart and protocol. Exports a PDF with a verification QR code; imports the clinic’s history in one go.

Ask the catalogues a question. The answer comes with its source cited — the manufacturer’s catalogue, not a model’s memory.

Why you can trust us

We know what it’s like to look into a patient’s mouth with no record at all.

That’s why we built Passport: a proper catalogue, security measures you can verify and a document the patient takes with them.

  • Patient ID numbers encrypted (AES-256)Unreadable even if the database leaks. The key never leaves the server.
  • Per-clinic isolation, enforced in the databaseEach clinic only sees its own records — a rule written into the database, not just the application, and covered by automated tests.
  • Mandatory, dated consentNo consent, no record. The right to erasure is carried out on the platform, with an audit trail.
  • A verification QR code that never exposes the patient’s IDThe public passport page is read-only, needs no login, and the clinic can revoke it at any time.
  • Two-step authenticationA time-based code (TOTP) is mandatory for anyone who administers the platform or a team.
  • GDPR and data processing agreement includedThe clinic is the data controller; we are the processor, with a DPA in our terms. Data stays in the European Union.

How it works

Three steps. Two minutes per implant.

From the first record to the patient holding their passport — no training, no installation.

  1. 1Record · or import

    Record the treatment

Brand, reference, lot, position on the dental chart and the patient’s consent. Already have your history in Excel? Import it in one go, as .XLS or .CSV.

  2. 2PDF · QR

    Hand over the passport

A PDF with the DentGrow identity and a verification QR code. The patient keeps it; any colleague can confirm it’s authentic without logging in and without seeing the patient’s ID.

  3. 3Search · X-ray

    Identify any implant

Yours or another dentist’s: search by features or upload the X-ray and get the candidates with a match percentage. Confirm, and the record is done.

Why Passport exists

In implantology, the problem is rarely placing the implant. It’s identifying it ten years later, when the patient moves to another city, the clinic changes hands or the brand discontinues the line.

DentGrow Passport was created to close that gap: a digital passport the dentist fills in with the patient’s consent, a search engine with the official catalogues of 45 brands, X-ray identification that suggests the most similar models — and a document with a QR code that the patient takes to any appointment, at any clinic.

It’s designed for dental clinics and dentists, with health data handled the way it should be: encrypted, isolated per clinic, hosted in the European Union and always exportable. The clinic is the data controller; Passport is the tool.

Questions we get asked

Does the patient need an account to see the passport?

No. The QR code on the PDF opens a read-only page, with no login and without showing the patient’s ID. The clinic can revoke that link at any time.

Who is responsible for the patients’ data?

The clinic (or the dentist, if they practise alone) is the data controller. DentGrow Passport acts as a processor under Article 28 of the GDPR, with the data processing agreement included in the terms of use.

What happens to my records if I cancel?

The account switches to read-only: you can still view and export everything you recorded. The data remains available for export for 12 months after the contract ends.

Does X-ray identification replace my diagnosis?

No. The AI returns the most similar models, with a match percentage, based on the features it estimates from the image. The dentist confirms — and only then does the implant go into the passport.

Personal Licence or clinic plan?

The Personal Licence goes with you: search and X-ray identification at any clinic where you practise. Recording passports always belongs to the plan of the entity providing the treatment, because it is responsible for the clinical record. If you already have a clinic plan, you don’t need the licence.

I already have an implant history in Excel. Will I lose it?

No. The importer accepts .XLS and .CSV files, checks every row before importing and tells you exactly what still needs fixing.

Do I need a card for the 30-day free trial?

Yes — your payment method is saved, but nothing is charged during the trial. Cancel before day 31 in the subscription portal and you pay nothing.
